Veggie Grill

If you have yet to try Veggie grill or any plant-based restaurant for that matter, this is a great place to start! This fully vegan restaurant advocates for the importance of eating vegan for animals and the environment while providing tons of statistics and information on their website and in store locations.

If you're in San Jose like myself, there are two locations where you can find Veggie Grill. As of now, Veggie Grill has over 30 locations throughout California, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts, and Washington so there may be one near you! The locations in my area can be found at Santana Row Shopping Center and the other at West Gate Shopping Center in Saratoga.

Now for the food... They have a wide selection to choose from including appetizers, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, and more. I will be highlighting my favorites that I have ordered in the past and what I recommend you to try first with some visuals.


One of my favorite appetizers to order is the Crispy Cauliflower with the Sweet and Spicy Sauce. They also have a buffalo sauce you can order with them that is tasty too. These are battered with tempura and topped with sesame seeds and green onions.

Another Appetizer that I love to get are the Sweet Potato Fries. Something about the way they're cooked and seasoned is perfect when you have them fresh. I do recommend ordering and dining there as I've noticed sometimes the fries can become soggy after sitting for a period of time or ordered to-go. I also enjoy crispy fries so it depends on what you prefer.

They have a great selection of bowls to choose from. My personal favorite is the Far East Bowl comes with the choice of grilled tempeh or crispy sesame chickin' with wild rice, broccolini, pickled vegetables, fresh herbs,and thai coconut curry sauce. I recommend the sesame chickin' for the choice of soy!

Another great choice to mention are the Pesto Zucchini Noodles come with basil pesto, arugula, parmesan, spicy Italian sausage crumbles, and roasted baby tomatoes. I'm a big pesto fan so I loved this one.

Immunity Bowl: comes with roasted yams, dark leafy greens, roasted brussels sprouts, tempeh, quinoa-lentil mix, with a miso mushroom sauce. This bowl is savory and filling in all of the right ways. This mix of vegetables and grains will have you feeling satisfied and recharged after a lunch meal.

Far East Bowl: 500-540 Calories

Pesto Zucchini Noodles: 450 Calories

These are just a few of the bowls that I enjoy but I encourage you to check out their menu and see what you might like.


My favorites to order is the Santa Fe Chickin' Sandwich comes with romaine lettuce, sliced tomato, pickled onion, mashed avocado, chipotle mayo, on a soft wheat roll. (gluten free option available)

Crispy Buffalo Chickin' Sandwich is another great sandwich option. This comes topped with creamy ranch, buffalo sauce, pickles, lettuce, and tomato. (gluten free option available)

With so much to choose from, this is a great place to start when introducing vegan restaurants to friends and family members that have yet to try a fully vegan menu! With a wide variety of American style burgers, sandwiches, and bowls; you will definitely enjoy it whether you're vegan or not. Let me know in the comments what you think you'll order first!
